Flu 2020-21

Flu vaccinations this year will be given according to age group and risk. Please ensure that you book into the appropriate clinic, if you do not book into the appropriate clinic you may not be given your vaccine. This is to prioritise the people at highest risk first.

Please be aware that flu clinics are by appointment only.

Over 65 years old

Under 65 years old AND in a clinical risk group

Children aged 2 & 3 years (by 01/09/2020) (nasal spray vaccine)

Please note: we are only able to vaccine children aged 2 & 3 years old and those in a clinical risk group. Children in reception-year 7 will be done at school.

All patients aged 50-64

Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.  If you are 50-64 and you are in one of the other groups which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.

What to expect when you arrive

Clinics will, where possible be held outside. Gazebo’s will be set up in the car park and you will be asked to socially distance queue through the car park and down the street. There will be a one-way system in operation and you will be asked to exit via the back gate into Essex Court.

You do not need to check in on arrival, join the queue and your name will be taken when you reach the desk.

We would ask that, where possible, you walk to the Surgery to reduce the number of cars arriving.

If the weather is wet, we will be operating a one-way system through the Surgery. You may still have to wait outside so please bring an umbrella. You will be asked to enter through the main entrance and exit via the backdoor.
