Travel Vaccinations

The practice nurse and the nursing associate can advise you on travel vaccination requirements.  Please note that some vaccines for overseas travel are not available on the NHS and you will be charged a fee for these.

  • Hepatitis A Vaccine
  • Hepatitis A and B Vaccine
  • Typhoid Vaccine (supply problems- June 2022)
  • Diphtheria/Tetanus and Polio Vaccine
  • Hepatitis B (private, for travel only. Not for occupational reasons)

We DO NOT OFFER:

  • Yellow Fever
  • Meningitis ACWY
  • Rabies

If you require any of these then you will need to attend a travel clinic.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible – at least 6 weeks before you travel. Some vaccines require more than one dose and vaccines take at least two weeks to become fully effective.
